LVSOA/PIAA
Officials are encouraged to become familiar with relevant
PIAA policies, as posted in the Officials section of the PIAA
website.
Of particular
interest are the PIAA Officials Manual, the seasonal rules
bulletins, and the library of online forms (e. g., disqualification
forms, chapter transfer forms, inactive/retirement forms).
Click the
links below to go to the relevant pages of the PIAA website.
INACTIVE
STATUS
An
official who cannot meet the active membership requirements
may declare inactive status with PIAA. The official will complete
and submit the Inactive
Status Form to become inactive for one year. An inactive
official:
- ...must continue
to pay PIAA dues.
- ...is not obligated
to attend the Mandatory Rules Interpretation Meeting or
any chapter meetings.
- ...may not officiate
any PIAA contests.
At
the end of the one-year period, the official automatically
returns to active status and is required to meet all PIAA
active membership requirements. If the official wishes to
remain inactive for a second year, the official must file
a new Inactive Status form for the second year.
